How does the Fit to Fly test workThe Fit to Fly test is a Polymerise Chain Reaction (PCR) test for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19 PCR antigen test. Several countries have mandated Covid-19 PCR test at least 72 hours before travel for international flights, while several others have mandated self-certification by travellers that they are Covid negative. The Fit to Fly test when produced prior to your flight, or at the Port of Entry (destination) allows you to travel or even be exempted from quarantine upon entering a country in certain cases.

How will I get my report?You will receive your report via email, so ensure you provide your email address and phone number at the time of booking your appointment. Your will get PCR report with a certificate issued by the clinic.

How much time does a PCR test take?A PCR test result becomes available 24 hours from the time the sample reaches the lab. We would recommend however, that you book your appointment at least 72 hours prior to travel.

What documents will I receive to prove that I am Covid-19 PCR negative?You will receive you lab report and along with it, a document on our letterhead certifying the details of the patient along with date and place the test was conducted, the test result; certifying that you were found to be Covid negative (if) by PCR test.

Why would I need a COVID-19 test?If you are experiencing any of the symptoms of COVID-19 coronavirus, such as: A new, continuous cough – This is worse than normal cough. If you are coughing a lot more than usual every hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours Fever, Fatigue, Shortness of breath, Loss of sense of taste or smell Or if you have been in contact with someone who has been infected or if you have recently been in a country with a high incidence of COVID-19, You can take a test to determine if you have been infected. You may also need COVID-19 PCR test results produced within 48-72 hours before international travel.

Will these Coronavirus tests tell me whether I've previously been infected or if I am immune?COVID-19 Antibody test identifies the body's response to coronavirus after the onset of infection, so you should choose this test if you wish to check if you have been previously infected. It will tell you whether your immune system has produced antibodies in response to Covid-19.

Are the Coronavirus antibody tests accurate?Abbotts antibody test has a 100% detection rate if taken 14 days from the initial exposer to the infection. It looks for antibodies from COVID 19 virus. If your result is negative then you have not had the virus or you have not waited at least 14 days post symptoms.

What should I do if tested positive in PCR test?If your PCR test comes back as positive, you must immediately self-isolate to prevent spreading the virus to others. If you have any health conditions, please Contact NHS 111 – they will provide advice and next steps.

What is the difference between a PCR test and Antigen test?The Antigen test looks for specific proteins on the surface of the virus, which is why the results come back quicker than the PCR test. The PCR test, tests your DNA for any traces of the virus by detecting the viral genetic material. PCR is considered as a Gold Standard test.

How are the tests administered?Forour PCR and Antigen tests, we take a nose and a throat swab to ensure accurate results. For our Antibody test, we take a blood sample.

What is the purpose of the Antibody blood test?TheAntibody test detects if you have any antibodies in your body (IGG). It cannot be used for the purposes of travel as it cannot detect a current infection, which is why most countries do not accept it as a valid test to travel. Some countries like China need you to produce Antibody IGM test results that suggests the current infection via blood samples. China also need PCR tests result along with IGM.

What is Test to Release?Test to Release is a scheme introduced by the government to lessen self-isolation periods after you have returned from travel. On your 5th day of isolation, you can take this test and upload the results on the government website.

What is the day 2 and day 8 testing scheme?This is another scheme introduced by the government, where people have to get tested on the day 2 and day 8 of their arrival from a foreign country. We do not currently provide this test as it is only conducted by the NHS.

What should I do if I test positive?If your PCR test comes back positive, you should follow the Government/NHS guidelines and you must self-isolate immediately to prevent spreading the virus to others.
